Theresa B. Murphy

Attorney Theresa B. Murphy is primarily "of counsel" to The Murphy Law Group, P.C., handling mediation cases and acting as Guardian ad Litem representing children in contested custody matters. She has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1988 when she graduated from law school at Northern Illinois University College of Law. She received her Juris Doctorate degree in 1988. She received her undergraduate Bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College in Indiana in 1984. She is a member of the Peoria County Bar Association.

Ms. Murphy is also a certified family law mediator, able to mediate and arbitrate all family law matters involved in dissolution of marriage actions. She is also a certified Guardian ad Litem authorized to represent children and their best interests in contested custody matters.

Ms. Murphy has an extensive history of community involvement and volunteering her time for the children of the local community. She is currently President of the board for the Children's Hospital of Illinois. She is past President of the Junior League of Peoria, and has extensive community involvement for Crittenton, St. Vincent de Paul Women's Guild, and numerous other volunteer organizations. She devotes a substantial amount of time giving back to the local Peoria area community in all of her volunteer activities, while still working part time and raising four children. She is married with four children and resides in Peoria, Illinois.
