G Edward MurphyG. Edward Murphy is the managing attorney and lead counsel for Murphy & Dunn, P.C., and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Mr. Murphy is a graduate of Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he graduated 3rd in his class. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Peoria County Bar Association. He serves on local family law committees and is a member of the family law section at both the state and national level. He is also a certified family law mediator, and can help you mediate or arbitrate all family law matters involved in dissolution of marriage actions. He is a Peoria native who returned home after law school and later joined James D. Reynolds to start the firm in 1988.

G. Edward Murphy has a history of success in all that he has undertaken. He was a successful student-athlete, excelling in sports as an All-State baseball player and golfer in high school, and pitching in baseball for Illinois Central College and The University of Iowa in college. In law school, he continued this level of success by graduating 3rd in his entire class, writing as an Editor for the Law Review, and competing in the Moot Court competition. This history of accomplishment in both academic and athletic arenas prepared him well for becoming a trial lawyer.

For the past 25 years, Mr. Murphy has continued to excel in all areas of family law and in mediation. He was previously voted one of "Illinois Law and Leading Attorneys" in both Family Law and Criminal Law, a distinction given to only the top six percent of attorneys in the State of Illinois. He is a respected member of the bar and a leading attorney in the family law arena. He limits his practice now solely to family law, divorce, custody, and complex property issues.

Mr. Murphy is married with four children. He resides in Peoria, Illinois.

Jeffrey M DunnJeffrey M. Dunn is a partner at Murphy & Dunn, P.C.. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Mr. Dunn was a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2006. He has been practicing in the family law arena since 2006 and concentrates in divorce, custody and other family law related matters. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Peoria County and Tazewell County Bar Associations. He serves on local family law committees and is a member of the family law section of the bar association. He is also a certified Guardian ad Litem able to represent children in custody cases. He is a Peoria area native who returned home after law school and has been practicing in Peoria County and Tazewell County since graduation.

Jeffrey M. Dunn has also been a success throughout his life in all that he has undertaken. He was a successful student-athlete, graduating as Valedictorian of his high school class and excelling in three sports as an All-Conference pitcher in baseball, and playing basketball and golf. He then went on to excel at Augustana College, where he lettered in baseball all four years and was an All Conference pitcher his Senior Year. In law school, he continued this level of success by graduating in the top of his graduating class. This history of accomplishment in both academic and athletic arenas prepared him well for becoming a trial lawyer. Mr. Dunn has continued to excel in all areas of family law and as a Guardian ad Litem. He is a respected member of the bar and a leading attorney in the family law arena. Meet Our Staff

Dina JDina C. James is a Senior Paralegal at the law firm of Murphy & Dunn, P.C. She joined the firm in June, 2005. She is a graduate of Illinois Central College, where she obtained her Associates in General Education and her paralegal certificate in 2001. She works extensively with both attorneys G. Edward Murphy and Jeffrey M. Dunn, and handles divorce, custody and divorce related matters for the firm. However, she is the primary Paralegal for Attorney Jeffrey M. Dunn.

Lori PetersLori L. Peters is a Senior Paralegal and has been with Murphy & Dunn, P.C. since December, 2000. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies in May 1994 from the University of Illinois-Springfield. She works extensively with both attorneys G. Edward Murphy and Jeffrey M. Dunn, and handles divorce, custody and complex divorce related matters for the firm. However, she is the primary Paralegal for Managing Attorney G. Edward Murphy.

Mary BethMary Beth Guy has been a Paralegal with Murphy & Dunn, P.C. since she joined the firm in September, 2009. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies. She primarily handles the day-to-day operations of dissolution of marriage cases, including custody, child support, maintenance, and property division charts in preparation for trial of the divorce matters.

Brandi HoganBrandi L. Hogan has been with Murphy & Dunn, P.C. since she joined the firm in January, 2011. She is currently the Business Manager for Murphy & Dunn, P.C. and handles all pension and QDRO matters for the firm. She is completing her Paralegal degree from Rasmussen College. She works primarily with Attorney G. Edward Murphy and is the person to contact on any billing or Invoice issues or questions. She is also the lead Administrative Assistant for Attorney G. Edward Murphy.

Julie BeagleJulie A. Beagle is a Legal Assistant and the Receptionist at Murphy & Dunn, P.C. She has been a part of the Murphy & Dunn, P.C. team since June, 2004. Julie attended Illinois Central College from 1986 to 1988. She handles all of the day-to-day scheduling for the law firm, and is the primary contact for clients over the telephone and in person at the office.
